Tour de Coeur 2009
The eighth annual Tour de Coeur is coming again to North Idaho on Sunday, August 30, 2009. This event is completely run by volunteers who are dedicated to the fight against cancer. All proceeds from Tour de Coeur go directly to patients in North Idaho, primarily to help with transportation costs to and from their treatments. What is Tour de Coeur?
Tour de Coeur is a full day of family fun, live music, food and more created to promote the importance of physical activity and nutrition as cancer prevention. It was planned with families in mind. The day consists of bicycle rides for every member of the family, from a short one mile ride to 33 miles on the Centennial Trail along the scenic beauty of Lake Coeur d'Alene. For those family members who are looking for more of a challenge, the ride leaves the Centennial Trail and heads out the Prairie Trail toward Heutter Road and back. All trails are paved and appropriate for any type of bike. Want to get involved? We need volunteers and sponsors!
The NEW staging area for all rides is at Riverstone Park located on Northwest Boulevard south of the I-90 interchange. You'll be visiting the newest park in Coeur d'Alene. Plan to stay after the riding is done, for food, entertainment, vendor displays, raffles, informational opportunities, and MORE! As always, complimentary massage is provided throughout the day. Music will be provided by Steven Harris and Rex James.
